Alaska exotic dancers seek minimum wage in federal suit

Three exotic dancers filed a wages-and-hours lawsuit against their former employers in an Alaska federal court. They are asking for $324,000 in back pay and other compensation. According to the Anchorage Daily News, the dancers received the minimum wage and tips for table dances and so-called VIP dances in a private lounge. New York Restaurant Employees Say They Are Being Cheated Out of Tips

Waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff gathered Sunday in Lower Manhattan to protest legislation that would bar them from suing for tips they were cheated out of.   The State Senate could vote on the legislation as soon as Monday. Read Full Story
