Southern Church denied black couple wedding

Even though the couple set a date and sent out invitations, a Mississippi church denied black couple their wedding at the church. Charles and Te’Andrea were denied a wedding at the minly white First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs. The church told them it had decided no black could be married at that church. Former street preacher, Katrina survivor "First Black Southern Baptist leader elected"

Fred Luter Jr. has been appointed as the first black Southern Baptist leader.  Luter is from New Orleans, from the lower Ninth Ward neighborhood.  He was the third of five children.
