AFGE files unfair labor practice against EPA for firing scientists

The American Federation of Government Employees filed an unfair labor practice charge with the Federal Labor Relations Authority claiming the Environmental Protection Agency fired two scientists for trying to organize a union at an EPA lab in Athens, Georgia. Cuomo calls for Vito Lopez to resign in wake of censure for sexually harassing female staffers


Governor Cuomo has demanded Assemblyman Vito Lopez, also the boss of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, resign, stating “sexual harassment at the workplace cannot be tolerated in any shape or form.” Last week, the Assembly Ethics Committee determined he groped a female staff members and made inappropriate sexually charged remarks to others.
