Philadelphia swim club discrimination case settled

The Justice Department announced a settlement agreement in a Philadelphia-area racial discrimination case. The case dates back to June 2009. Creative Steps Day Camp of Northeast Philadelphia paid The Valley Swim Club in Huntingdon Valley for pool access for summer campers. Saudi woman approved to wear headscarf during Olympics judo competition

A controversy over Olympic competitor’s hijab sparked an outpour of complaints across the globe. The International Olympic Committee, International Judo Federation and Saudi officials had agreed that Wojdan Shaherkani, a female Saudi Arabian judo fighter, is allowed towear a headscarf during her matches.
