Assisted Living Home in Oregon Settles Disability Discrimination Lawsuit

In Portland, Oregon, an assisted living and nursing home named Pioneer Place Assisted Living facility will pay $80,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).   The nursing home will also apologize to Pamila Bourasa, a job applicant with epilepsy, whom they refused to hire for a cook position.   Even though Bourasa had completed a positive interview and discussed a start date she was not hired when […]
