Texas reporter files discrimination suit after being fired for stripping

Sarah Tressler, 30 years old, is suing her former employer, the Houston Chronicle in Texas, after she was fired and claiming that the termination was sexually discriminatory against her gender.  She was fired after another publication exposed her second job as a night club stripper.  She is currently seeking for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to look into the employer’s decision. Transgender Discrimination Bill considered by NY

New York is considering a transgender bill which would amend all of the state’s anti-discrimination laws.  This would include laws regarding employment and housing.  The State Assembly passed the legislation and it currently sitting before the Senate Rules Committee.  To date, sixteen states and the District of Columbia prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender identity and expression.  Some state laws cover issues of employment, housing, education and public accommodations. A&T Student in North Carolina sues for sex discrimination

A North Carolina A&T Student has sued the school for sex discrimination.  The student is Wendy Anderson who is claiming that Eric Cheek, an adjunct professor in the electrical and computer engineering department discriminated upon her sex and maintained a hostile work environment.  She also claims that instead of fixing the situation, the instead transferred her.  The plaintiff is now seeking to get compensatory damages and attorney’s fees form the lawsuit.  See When faced with […]

It has been reported Jimmy Fallon, late night talk show host, and NBC Universal are being sued for gender discrimination. According to the lawsuit filed by Paul Tarascio, Jimmy Fallon does not like working with men because he prefers to be told what to do by women.
