Controversial Immigration Laws Go Into Effect January 1, 2012

Effective January 1, 2012, new laws in Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia have changed the way businesses operate in these states. The new controversial immigration law requires businesses to enroll in the federal E-Verify program to ensure that employees are eligible to work in the United States. If an employer fails to enroll in the E-Verify program, or is discovered employing illegal aliens, the business will be sanctioned.
