Boston Ambulance Made Larger For Obese Passengers

After a recent influx of obese passengers, Boston’s Emergency Medical Services will begin using an ambulance that is equipped with a hydraulic lift.  Other U.S. cities have already starting using ambulances equipped for overweight passengers, including Kansas City, Las Vegas and Omaha.  Between 2000 and 2005 the obese population in America increased 75 percent.  To spare the crews’ backs and necks, the ambulance’s retrofitting will cost $12,000 and it will also carry a stretcher that […]
