Hedge Fund Big Russell Abrams Named in Sex Discrimination Lawsuit

Danielle Pecile, 27, and Cristina Culicea, 28, have filed a sex discrimination lawsuit, naming Titan Capital President Russel Abrams, his wife, Sandra, and various figures and lawyers involved with the firm.  The two women fired from the hedge fund firm after they complained about frisky business on the job.  Pecile and Culicea claim they were repeatedly hit on, cursed at, and called names like “idiot” by the defendants.  Their steamy legal battle with the Titan team began last year when Pecile claimed Abrams made her get photos of his bare-breasted wife printed from a CD.  She said Abrams took pleasure in her “embarrassment and discomfort.”  Read more: NY Daily News

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) describes sexual harassment as a form of gender discrimination that is in violation of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.  It has been estimated that only 5 to 15% of harassed women formally report problems of harassment to their employers or employment agencies such as the EEOC.  There are many reasons why victims are reluctant to make allegations of sexual harassment, including fear of losing their jobs or otherwise hurting their careers, fear of not being believed, the belief that nothing can or will be done to stop the harassment, and embarrassment, shame, or guilt at being harassed.  The attorneys at Leeds, Morelli and Brown, P.C., understand that it may be very hard for a woman to come forward and file a sex harassment lawsuit.  The Law Firm of Leeds, Morelli and Brown, P.C., fully supports and counsels those who have been harassed at the workplace.
