Charitable / Pro Bono Work

Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC is an active supporter of Long Island Cancer Care. In particular, Lenard Leeds has authored the single "Love Will See Us Through," which has been designated as a theme song of Long Island Cancer Care. Proceeds from sales are donated to the organization and Len performs for cancer patients throughout Long Island.

In the fall of 2006, Len performed with Tony Orlando at The Tilles Performing Arts Center and dedicated the event to cancer survivors. Additionally, partners Lenard Leeds and Jeffrey Brown received honorable Citations for their outstanding support for Long Island Cancer Care in 2006. The Nassau County Legislature has also adopted "Love Will See Us Through" as a County theme song because of the its inspirational message.

Leeds Morelli & Brown, PC have been inspired by cancer patients who have confronted discrimination in the workplace and have been unfairly terminated due to their disabilities. The law firm is generally considered a zealous advocate for employees who encounter age, race, national origin, disability and gender discrimination in the workplace. For more information please see the Cancer Care website.

Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC is a dauntless crusader for the rights of individuals who cannot always defend themselves. Children are our most cherished, yet sadly all too often least represented, members of our society. Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC has spent decades representing and defending children's rights to ensure their safety, health and well being. In its search for a way to enrich their lives even further, Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC can think of no finer place than St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children.

St. Mary's is one of the nation's premier providers of intensive rehabilitation and specialized care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions. As the largest pediatric post-acute care provider of its kind in the New York metropolitan area, St. Mary's treats nearly 4,000 children each day throughout NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, and beyond through an innovative network of inpatient, home care and community programs.

In December 2006, Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC had the honor of holding a fundraiser at The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. The event, which included a star turning performance by Len Leeds himself, was headlined by legendary performer Neil Sedaka. Over 2000 people came out to support the miracles of life that St. Mary's provides each and every day. At the event Dr. Burton Grebin, President and CEO of St. Mary's, gave a special thanks to Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC for their efforts in bringing much needed attention to such a worthy cause.

Leeds, Morelli & Brown, PC is a supporter of The Workplace Project. In 2006, partner Jeffrey Brown was given the distinction of being honored as "Man of the Year" at The Workplace Project's annual banquet dinner.

According to its website, "The Workplace Project (Centro de Derechos Laborales), founded in 1992, is a membership based organization that unites immigrant workers and their families for better working and living conditions.

The Workplace Project was founded on the belief that while simply providing services might alleviate some of the pain of exploitation; it would do nothing to fix the problems in the long run. Instead, it has chosen to build community centers of and for immigrants, which work through a cycle of outreach, leadership training, membership building, and organizing for change in the labor context." For more info please see the workplace project website.
