Tom Ricotta is an Associate of Leeds Morelli and Brown, P.C., and one of the Firm's top litigation attorneys. During the course of his professional career with Leeds Morelli & Brown, P.C., Tom has distinguished himself as a successful litigation attorney who has won multiple federal and state trials, and has handled all aspects of litigation, as both lead counsel and co-counsel. Through his work, the Firm has achieved six-figure awards, and multiple million dollar awards.
His successes in his time at Leeds Morelli and Brown, P.C. continue to increase in number. Since 2007, Tom has been co-counsel in Bensy v. Malverne UFSD, et al. (jury award of $100,000 for emotional damages only), as well as Olsen, et al. v. The County of Nassau, et al. (jury award of $1,000,000 in emotional damages). Tom was also lead trial counsel in Fishman v. The Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, et al. (jury award of $734,000 in emotional and punitive damages). He has also been part of a legal team on commercial litigation cases, including a complex trademark case that involved fifty-seven witnesses and approximately twenty experts.
Most recently, Tom was co-counsel on Bianco v. Flushing Hospital Medical Center , where at a jury awarded a record $13.5 million dollar emotional damage verdict in Plaintiff's favor, and a total verdict of $15 million.
Tom has been interviewed and quoted in various New York publications, including the New York Times and the New York Post. He is admitted to practice in all New York Courts, and has orally argued matters at both the New York State Appellate Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has also handled numerous mediations and arbitrations, as well as hearings within the United States Department of Labor and New York State Division of Human Rights. He is a certified New York State mediator.
Tom came to the Firm in September 2005. He received a substantial scholarship to attend law school, and graduated from the Hofstra University School of Law in 2003. Tom also holds a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Labor and Industrial Relations from Le Moyne College.

Leeds Morelli & Brown Obtains Record Verdict in Sexual Harassment Case
Employers that don't try to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace take heed. A jury in Queens, N.Y., this week awarded $15 million to a nurse who endured several years of unwanted sex talk, propositions and groping by a doctor that escalated to two sexual assaults against her in 2001. The verdict represents the largest sexual harassment judgment ever awarded to an individual in a New York state court.
