CARLE PLACE, NY (May, 2011) -- The parents of a learning disabled Syosset boy who suffers from life-threatening allergies have sued the elite Syosset Central School District and an elementary school principal claiming school officials failed to adequately accommodate their son and then retaliated against him after they complained of his mistreatment in an effort to force the parents to remove him from school.

The federal lawsuit by Perri and Joseph Mekalainas alleges among other things that Joanne Mannion, principal of the Berry Hill School since 2007, violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by discriminating against their son, Christian, now 10 and a fourth grader at the school.

Country Club Managers Violated Law To Maintain Privileged Lives

Golf Consultant Firm Illegally Blackballed by Representatives of Posh Clubs

A Long Island golf consultant is teed off because the managers of numerous swanky country clubs in New York’s wealthiest suburbs are boycotting his firm and preventing their members from calling for help at a time when they’re reeling from the economy and effects of the Madoff scandal.

The nationally recognized consultant, David A. Shaw, of Greenvale, Long Island, filed an anti-trust lawsuit Thursday in New York State Supreme Court in Mineola, Long Island, in which he claims that trade groups representing the managers of these posh clubs illegally blackballed his company. The suit, which also names the managers of some of the region’s most elite clubs, seeks unspecified damages for lost revenues and damages that could reach millions of dollars.

Bartender Files Age Discrimination Lawsuit Against new York Yankees

John Vendikos filed an age discrimination lawsuit against the New York Yankees for discharging him after 27 seasons with the organization. Mr. Vendikos, a 73 year old bartender at Yankees Stadium, was dismissed because of his age.

After 27 years as a bartender at the old New York Yankees stadium, he was forced to re-apply for his position at the new stadium. During his interview with the New York Yankees organization, he was asked “Why should I hire you? You’re an old man.”

After serving such Yankee legends as Joe DiMaggio, he thought the statement was a poor attempt at humor by the interviewer for the New York Yankees; however, he later found out that it was no joke.
