In Tennessee, an Italian eatery named Rafael’s Italian Restaurant has been sued by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for violating federal law. As a result, the restaurant agreed to pay $25,000 and institute other relief. According to the lawsuit, the restaurant subjected a class of female employees to sexual harassment which date back to 2005.

AutoZone Injunction to make Reasonable Accommodation for Disabilities

A federal court in Illinois has ordered an injunction against AutoZone, Inc., to reasonably accommodate for disabilities of its retail employees in central Illinois for three years and must keep records of these requests for four years.

A Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board advertisement has been pulled from public view after critics found that it blamed women for being victims. The advertisement was intended to warn young people about the relationship between excess drinking and rape.

Men claiming Sex Discrimination against Playboy

In Savannah, Georgia, a federal discrimination has been filed against district attorney. The suit was filed by a former District Attorney’s police officer. The former police officer claims he suffered mental anguish, emotional distress and humiliation by the District Attorney.

Nivea Apologizes For Controversial Ad in Esquire

Skin care company Nivea has issued an apology for an advertisement that ran in Esquire magazine last month. The advertisement for Nivea for Men featured a clean-cut, African-American male holding what appeared to be a mask of a black man with an Afro hair style and a beard. The copy accompanying the ad read, “Look Like You Give a Damn. Re-civilize Yourself.”
