Gregory Filosa

Gregory Filosa is a Senior Associate of Leeds Morelli & Brown, PC and one of the firm’s litigation attorneys. Throughout his career, Mr. Filosa has practiced exclusively in the area of labor and employment litigation, representing both employees and management in claims for employment discrimination, wage and hour class and collective actions, breach of contract, restrictive covenant and a variety of First Amendment issues in federal court, state court and arbitration. Representative matters include:

  • Co-counsel in arbitration representing former CFO of Six Flags in breach of contract action which resulted in $23.72 million arbitration award;
  • Co-counsel in overtime claim representing current and former Research Associates at leading financial services research firm which recently settled for $900,000, pending court approval;
  • Co-counsel in gender discrimination claim against Citigroup that was featured on front cover of Forbes (March 2009) and The Today Show (Oct. 14, 2010) that is currently pending in federal court in New York City.

In addition to litigation matters, Mr. Filosa also has significant experience in advising senior-level executives and management regarding the negotiation and drafting of complex employment and separation agreements, with a particular emphasis on covenants not to compete, nonsolicitation, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Filosa was an Associate at Thompson Wigdor LLP in New York where he represented both employees and management in a number of complex litigations. Prior to relocating to New York, Mr. Filosa served as an Assistant City Solicitor with the City of Philadelphia Law Department where he represented the City in both traditional labor as well as employment matters. Following law school, Mr. Filosa served as a law clerk for the Honorable Mitchell S. Goldberg on the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas. Shortly after Mr. Filosa’s tenure as a law clerk, Judge Goldberg was appointed as a U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. During law school, Mr. Filosa served as a law clerk with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor where he assisted DOL attorneys with ongoing litigation involving the various labor statutes enforced by the DOL.

Mr. Filosa is a graduate of Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where he served as Associate Editor on the Temple International & Comparative Law Journal and authored International Pension Reform: Lessons for the United States (Temple Int’l & Comp. L.J.; Spring 2005). He received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
